Funeral Celebrant Manchester

Funeral Celebrant Manchester | Unity Ceremonies | Humanist Funerals | Non Religious Funerals As a Funeral Celebrant, I know the death of someone close can be one of the most painful experiences that life has to offer, and I offer my condolences to you and your family if tragic events have brought you to my website.

Support & Comfort

I will to work with you and yours to create a service which is personal and uplifting, respecting your beliefs and values and those of your loved one. I will spend time with you, listening and talking to you to draw out the meanings and sentiments that you wish to convey. Using your stories, anecdotes and memories to truly capture the essence of your loved one. Written sensitively and warmly, delivered respectfully and with care. Your loved one’s funeral service will be as unique and individual as the person themselves.

Many thanks Liz, the service keepsake you gave us is beautiful. I have had many lovely comments about the service and the way you presented it, you did Dad proud. I will be the Funeral Director to recommend you to other bereaved families as your empathy shone through. Again, many thanks x Debi Williams

If you wish me to, I will help you to think about music, poetry, readings, and the order of service, preparing it ready to be sent to the Funeral Director for printing. If family and friends wish to be included in the ceremony I will factor this in, you may want to hold the ceremony in a venue of your choice, the possibilities are endless, it doesn’t have to be in a crematorium or church.

If I have carried out the Funeral service, I will scatter the ashes of your loved one if you wish me to with no extra charge.

Tradition with a Twist

The funeral service has a lasting impact on those present and can help you to begin your healing  journey. What is it that makes us who we are? We are all so different in life and those differences make us interesting and unique, enriching the lives of our families, friends and communities in so many ways. our family history, hobbies, life’s work? Whatever it is that defines us can be woven into the service making it personal and truly inspirational, I have written services for football fans, gardeners, Buddhists, battle re-enactors, plane spotters and train enthusiasts to name but a few.

Thank you for such a wonderful presentation of Louis’s life. You touched so many people with your Eulogy. It meant so much to us as a family. It takes people like you to get through the day and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You will do other families proud. It was as if you plucked the memories right out of my head, I could picture what you were saying, it was lovely to remember things I had forgotten, thank you! The Henry Family

Most people want a funeral service that is personal and brings their lost loved one to the forefront of their mind’s eye, a celebration of a life well lived. Getting to know people’s story helps me to create a respectful and heart-warming service that holds special meaning for you and your loved ones. And more and more often I am asked to carry out a committal service at the Crematorium or the Cemetery followed by a service to celebrate the life of their loved one at a different venue, one that holds special meaning to the deceased or the family, for example, as well as Crematoriums and Cemeteries I have carried out services at stately homes, football grounds, in gardens etc.

Using Technology To Say Goodbye

Is there someone who cannot be there because they live too far away or they can’t travel for some reason? Don’t feel that they have to miss out on their final chance to say goodbye. The service can be recorded or with access to wifi, I can set up a link over Skype, enabling people to pay their respects  and be part of the funeral service for their loved one or friend. Some Crematoriums are able to Podcast.

If you wish to celebrate your loved one by holding the funeral, memorial service or life celebration in a place outside of a Church or Crematorium, I am more than happy to do so. You may wish the service to be non religious or to include elements of religion, a prayer, reading or hymn, either way your ceremony will be a beautiful and heartwarming tribute.

Dear Rosie (Natural Endings Funeral service) and Liz. We just wanted to thank you both for yesterday. The feedback has been universally positive. His woodland burial was a moving ceremony in a beautiful and appropriate place, and his celebration an equally moving, instructive  and  fitting tribute to a remarkable young man. Thank you for everything you did to make this happen, for your patience, sensitivity and kindness. We will remember you both, as we remember Steve. Despite the suddenness of his death, you helped to bring his life to a ‘sunny ending’. Thanks again, Peter and Lesley Bowers

Your Memories

Funeral Celebrant Manchester | Unity Ceremonies | Humanist Funerals | Non Religious Funerals When we are caught up in grief and the emotional turmoil of saying goodbye to our loved ones it is often difficult to remember the loving tributes, funny anecdotes and respectful tributes that have been spoken at the funeral service. I will give you a personalised had finished copy of your service or ceremony for you to keep and read when you are ready.

Making Your Own Arrangements

Talking about death is becoming less of a taboo than it has been and more and more of us are pre arranging our own funeral service. Which not only takes the stress and emotional burden from our families but also gives us the opportunity to ‘have the last word’ as it were…. How many times do you hear people talking about their funeral song  or what they would like to happen at their funeral, but when it comes to it, would anyone really know your wishes?

Are there particular songs that hold special meaning for you or something to send you off with a smile at the end of the service? Messages from you, poems or readings said by the special people in your life?  Do you want to be cremated or buried? Have an Eco Funeral? Scattering or natural burial ground? (Or both) What kind of transport would you have? Would you want something different or unusual to happen? What sort of casket would you like? Funeral Director or arranged by family and friends? In a venue of your choice…

There are so many unique or traditional ways to say goodbye that it often helps to sit down and talk it through with someone who can guide you through the process. I am happy to meet with you to help you to make your arrangements. Contact me to discuss how we can work together with your to make your arrangements confidentially, respectfully and with the assurance that your funeral service will be as you would want it to be.

We all just want to say a very big thank you for your contribution to the service yesterday.  We all felt really moved by your words and the whole service was very well received by all who attended.  Many commented on how beautiful the occasion was and in some cases it was the most special and heartfelt service they had ever been to. Thank you also for the lovely little booklet of the transcript of the service. Fiona Child and family

The Natural Death Centre

I am a member and supporter of the Natural Death Centre and as such have committed to the following pledge
‘As a celebrant who shares the values of the Natural Death Centre Charity, I see my role as supportive rather than directive, and I undertake to offer my services to help each family I work with, to ensure they have the best possible funeral for the person who has died.

I believe that families should be encouraged to do as much as they feel able to in the creating and carrying out of a funeral ceremony, and I will encourage families that I work with to send The Natural Death Centre the story of their funeral so that others can be inspired to be fully involved with creating ceremonies too.’

I am also a supplier member of the National Association of Funeral Directors.
